1113 satisfied customers later (according to my logs), DeCSS is no longer here
"I got a letter from the government the other day. I opened and read it, it said they were suckers." -Chuck D from Public Enemy
Here is the letter they sent me.
Normally, I'd be all about fighting the power or whatever, but this time i don't feel like it. Why, you ask?
1: This site is hosted at an ISP that i used to work at. I no longer work there. Thus, i no longer have direct control over the box. I don't want to bring other people into this situation that had nothing to do with it (whereas before i woudl have been a direct contact concerning the sites content).
2: I now live in San Francisco. San Jose isn't very far away. If the MPAA decided to make an example out of someone, I'd be a prime target.
3: I'm not willing to go to jail over this (I don't even _have_ a DVD drive).
If you want DeCSS it's still out there. Many sites maintain lists of mirrors, but I'm not gonig to link to them since it'd just give the MPAA another easy way to find more targets for their anonymous threatening letters. Sorry to be a sell out, but under these circumstances I see no other choice.
